Mother Verde Wellness Weekly: Supporting Energy Through the Holidays ❄️

Good Afternoon.

This Week We’re Talking About Nutrition and Energy

As Christmas approaches, life naturally becomes fuller. Routines loosen, mental load increases, and even meaningful moments take more energy to hold. It’s common to feel more tired than usual, even with enough sleep.

If you’re waking up drained or relying on caffeine, you’re not alone. This season asks a lot, and fatigue is often the body’s way of asking for steadier support, not more effort.

Energy isn’t built by sleep alone. Nutrition plays a key role, especially during the holidays. Irregular meals, blood sugar dips, nutrient gaps, dehydration, and stress can all quietly impact how you feel. None of this means you are doing the season wrong. It means your body is responding to a time of increased demand.

In this week’s blog, I share why energy feels less steady this time of year, how nutrition supports the nervous system and blood sugar, and small, realistic shifts that help you feel more grounded. I also share how certain nutrients, such as magnesium, vitamin D, B vitamins, and iron, can support energy when life feels especially full.

Recipe of The Week

Oat and Date Energy Bites With Cocoa + Maca

These little bites are perfectly balanced with carbs, healthy fats, and protein from seeds and nuts. They are great for breakfast, an afternoon snack, or even as a healthy dessert. You can adapt them by adding protein powder, different seeds, or spices like cinnamon. They come together very fast in a chopper, blender, or food processor.

🌸 Mantra of the Week

“I am worthy of fueling my body well. I deserve the energy and vitality that comes from nourishing myself with care.”

✨ Tip of the Week

Add adequate protein to your breakfast. I sip a protein smoothie most mornings because I just don’t have time to sit down for more than a few minutes with school runs and I am eager to drink coffee (but not on an empty stomach!) and I can pack a lot of nutrients into my blender cup. Starting the day with a protein-rich meal helps stabilize blood sugar and keeps your energy steady. Try eggs with spinach and cheddar in a wrap, tofu scramble, or Greek yogurt with berries.

If you want more gentle guidance, the
Boost Your Energy Nutrition and Snack Guide is there as a supportive resource. It is designed to help steady energy through food and hydration in a way that fits real life, especially during busy seasons like this one.

💖A Gentle Reframe

Use this season as an invitation to rebalance your energy through foods that feel grounding, nourishing, and restorative.

See you next week when we talk about time management.

With love,
Lindsey Case

Good afternoon...This Week We’re Talking About Time Management. Coming home after time away can feel a little jarring… suitcases half unpacked, laundry waiting, a calendar that suddenly fills itself. I always notice how quickly life picks back up… and how much I hold on a daily basis. That re-entry moment is where this week’s focus begins. Time management isn’t about jumping back in at full speed. It’s about finding your footing again… creating just enough structure to feel steady, without...

Good afternoon...This Week We’re Talking About Nutrition & Energy. Winter always slows my body down… even when my calendar doesn’t get the memo. I’m currently traveling in snowy & cold Eastern Europe and off my routines, and moving around a lot. I’ve been enjoying my time and all the food, but I’ve been eating a lot of bread, sweets, and drinking more coffee & alcohol than in daily life. Everyday I make effort to get fruits & veggies in to support my systems and not just please my tongue. 😛...

Good afternoon...This Week We’re Talking About Mindset. Good afternoon, If the start of this year feels heavy instead of energizing, you’re not imagining it... and you’re not doing anything wrong. Even if you’re not watching the news, the weight of what’s happening in the world still reaches your body. Add winter, motherhood, work, emotional labor, and the constant pressure to “get it together,” and it makes sense that many of us feel tired, resistant, or quietly overwhelmed. There’s still so...
